Our Story
Necessity is the mother of invention.
We started DigitalArchitect (then DigitalArchitect.io) in March of 2016 when several friends and family members needed websites. Because these were some of the people who matter the most to us, we had to help them. They all had a problem that needed solving.
Our initial intent was to identify a vendor for our friends and family to build websites. But all we could find was companies offering ‘website templates’ that were supposed to be easy to implement, but all required some technical knowledge to look and function professionally. They were all easy to mess up if you don’t know what you are doing, and we needed something foolproof. We were so disappointed with the available options that were out there that we decided to create a better way.
While our friends and family are not programmers, they are computer savvy enough to have social media profiles. This made us realize that we needed to create a solution that was as easy to use as a social media page but technically advanced enough that our friend’s and family’s businesses could be competitive. We also realized that it would be most efficient to build a single web application that would essentially be the platform for all of his friends and family’s websites instead of creating a different site for each of them. When we make a change to help one, it will help all of them.
Thus DigitalArchitect was born. We have created a single web platform that can be used by any business. There is a wide range of upgrades available so that each site can personalize their user experiences, but all upgrades built by the same development team that builds the core web application. Everything is designed to work together creating a turnkey, seamless, and optimal experience.
And then there was a buzz...
DigitalArchitect.com has been on the web, available to the public since 2016. The circle of friends and family using the platform keeps getting bigger and bigger. It was still just a part-time passion project.
In 2019, our friends and family have had so much success using the platform that we realized that there is something there, and it must be brought to the mainstream. We had recently sold another tech company and were finally in a position to focus all of our resources and energy on this project. We also started marketing this platform for the first time, and we received a tremendous response.
Our feedback was so positive that we decided to add several upgrades to take the platform to the next level. DigitalArchitect.com is no longer just a front-end web application. DigitalArchitect can also serve as a back-end business management platform. Tying the back end to the front end creates a delightful user experience for our customers' customers because there is continuity between your web presence and your customer service.
You are treated like a part of the family here.
This platform was originally for the friends and family of web developers, so using our platform is like being a part of our family. We are constantly evolving the web application to keep our friends and family member’s businesses competitive, so you too can real the benefits of those enhancements. So you could say that using our platform is like getting ‘hooked-up’ by a friend/family member who is a web developer.
We are more than just an inside track to a great web presence. Our platform evolves as the internet evolves. Have you ever been to a website that felt old? Websites are designed using the web design trends of the day. Much like a suit or dress is tailored with the fashions of the day, and in a couple of years, it feels old and dated. Well, we can’t have our friends and family’s business websites look dated, so we are always on the lookout for internet design trends, and we will update the platform for you as design standards change.
Lastly, at DigitalArchitect, your success is our success. We tell everyone using our platform that if you have an idea about how our web application can help your business, we want to know about it. We are your partners in success. If there is something that can help one of us, there is a good chance that it can help others. This crowdsourcing of ideas will not only keep us all competitive now but also in the future.
Brad Sherp, Chief Executive Officer
Brad Sherp, our founder, is a businessman who was so frustrated with the software options available to him that he decided to teach himself web development, to take it upon himself to create better software solutions for businesses.
He believes that the problem with most software solutions is that there is a disconnect between the technical people building the products and the customers who use the software. Most computer programmers build software to customer’s specifications and stop there. However most customer’s technical expectations are limited by not understanding technical possibilities. Metaphorically speaking, if you didn’t know that airplanes exist, your expectations of how long it would take to travel would probably be different.
Brad founded DigitalArchitect to bridge the gap by being a business person first and a programmer second. It is with this approach that he combines a complex understanding of business problems with technical knowledge to develop innovative solutions.
